Jelina's Fantasy Animal

Estimated Cost to Make this Item: 35 € for the paints

This is a project I made for school. It’s a fantasy-animal. It has the head and neck of a giraffe, the body of a turtle, the legs of a spider and the tail of a dragon. This was my very first project of papier-mâché (and I’m only 18 years old). I think it looks pretty!

In the back of the animal are holes with little tubes in it so you can put some flowers in it.

I don’t know a name yet, so of you know something, just let me know!

Very inspirational Jelina! The combination of animal parts is very imaginative. Is it hollow on the inside? What did you use for the armature? Great job on your first project, I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

Hi! Thanks you like it!
I used a balloon as the base, then I used chicken wire for making the head and neck, the legs and the tail. I taped it to the balloon when it was completely dry.
So yes it is hollow inside and it doesn’t weight much.
I’ll definitely make another animal, but it will take a while to make it cause I have exams right now, but you can look on my blog if you want to, but it is written in dutch: http://mycrafblog.weebly.com/
I started this blog 2 days ago

Thanks!
Greetings Jelina

Jelina, your website is as wonderful as your fantasy critter. Be sure to let us know when that delightful egg creature is done. We will go back to your site and take a look.

Hi Jonni!
It’s just to let you know that I updated my blog. My egg has a tail and feet right now, they’re made from chicken wire, and I taped it to the egg.
It’s very stable now and I think it looks good.
If someone has any suggestions for a name, just let me know!

Hi Jelina. Your other website is no longer online. Would you like me to switch all the links to your site on this blog over to the new one? Or do you intend to put the Dutch version back online?
